Poem written by Karen Burke about the foods from Jamaica and how much it is within our DNA. 'Inspired by a sponsored art culture trip to Scotland with my daughter where they were celebrating forefathers who fought to keep their identity, especially regarding the British empire. Believing we have Scottish within our blood it was an eye opening weekend of kinship and sameness in our fight.

This poem celebrates the foods my Mother used to cook when she was on this side of the universe, from what her mother used to cook...and her mother...'
